Singapore is a small Southeast Asian nation located on the strait of Malacca. The country is bordered by Malaysia and covers an area of 697 square miles. It is known for its modern skyline, diverse culture, and vibrant nightlife. Singapore is composed of three main geographical regions: the mainland in the north, the southern islands, and the offshore islands in the east. The mainland consists mainly of lush tropical rainforests, mangrove swamps, and wetlands which provide habitat for some of Singapore’s most iconic wildlife such as monitor lizards, monkeys, and rare birds. The southern islands are characterized by their sandy beaches which are popular with tourists looking for a relaxing beach holiday. Finally, the offshore islands consist mainly of rocky outcrops which provide stunning views across the ocean on a clear day. In addition to its diverse geography, Singapore also has several national parks where visitors can explore nature reserves filled with rare plants from around the world such as Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve or Bukit Timah Nature Reserve where visitors can explore lush rainforest habitats filled with exotic birds and animals.
