Saint Kitts and Nevis is a two-island nation located in the Caribbean Sea. The country consists of the islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis, which are separated by a shallow 2-mile wide channel known as The Narrows. The islands are volcanic in origin, with large central peaks covered in lush tropical rainforest. The highest peak on Saint Kitts is Mount Liamuiga, which stands at 3,792 feet above sea level. Nevis Peak is slightly lower at 3,232 feet above sea level. Both mountains are surrounded by lush rainforest with many streams and waterfalls that can be enjoyed by hikers. The two islands have many beautiful beaches with white sand and crystal clear waters. On the southeast coast of Saint Kitts lies Frigate Bay, a popular spot for swimming and snorkeling. On the south coast lies Cockleshell Bay Beach which has stunning views of both islands. On Nevis there is Pinney’s Beach which is also known for its great snorkeling opportunities and Oualie Beach where visitors can enjoy some of the best sunsets in the Caribbean Sea. There are also many other smaller coves and bays to explore around both islands where visitors can find solitude away from the crowds.
