Pakistan is a country located in South Asia, bordered by Afghanistan and Iran to the west, India to the east, and China to the northeast. The country’s terrain varies significantly between regions; its northern areas are dominated by the towering Himalayan Mountains, while its southern regions are predominantly plains and deserts. The Himalayas form a natural border between Pakistan and India and contain some of the highest mountains in the world including K2 (the world’s second highest peak). These mountains provide Pakistan with a unique geography and offer breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks for visitors. In contrast to this mountainous terrain lies vast desert plains that cover much of southern Pakistan. This region is largely flat with sandy dunes that can reach heights of up to 200 meters. It is here where visitors will find some of Pakistan’s most iconic attractions such as Cholistan Desert and Rohtas Fort.
