Norway is a Scandinavian country located in Northern Europe. It borders Sweden to the east and Finland and Russia to the north-east. Norway has a unique geography with mountains, fjords, glaciers, forests, and islands. The western coast of Norway is lined with thousands of miles of rugged coastline framed by majestic fjords. These deep inlets are formed by glaciers carving out valleys in the earth over thousands of years. The northern areas of Norway are dominated by mountainous terrain and covered with snow for much of the year. The highest point in Norway is Galdhøpiggen, which stands 8100 feet above sea level. In addition to its impressive mountain range, Norway also boasts hundreds of islands scattered along its coastlines. Most are uninhabited but each island offers visitors breathtaking scenery and an opportunity to explore nature at its finest.
