Malawi is a landlocked country located in southeastern Africa bordered by Zambia, Tanzania and Mozambique. It has a population of around 19 million people and is divided into 28 districts. Malawi is known as the “warm heart of Africa” due to its friendly people and stunning landscapes. The country is mostly comprised of plateaus and rolling hills, with the highest point being Sapitwa Peak at 3,002 meters (9,848 feet) above sea level. The central region of Malawi is home to the Nyika Plateau which rises up to 1,500 meters (4,900 feet) above sea level. The plateau features lush green grasslands dotted with wildflowers and small lakes perfect for fishing or bird watching. Further south lies Lake Malawi which stretches along the entire eastern border of the country. This freshwater lake is known for its stunning beaches that make it a popular destination for tourists looking to relax or go swimming in its crystal clear waters. The northern region consists largely of plains while the southern region consists mostly of mountains including Mulanje Massif which rises up to 3,000 meters (9,800 feet) above sea level and provides some of the most beautiful views on the continent.
