Malta: Valletta

The capital of Malta is Valletta. With a size of only 0.8 square kilometers and 6300 inhabitants, it is the smallest capital in the European Union. Despite its size, the city has a lot to offer and has even been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Because culturally there is a lot to see in Valletta, such as the fortress walls around the city, the port or many historical places. It is also popular with tourists for its many lovely cafés and the Republic and Merchants Streets. The city is located on a headland on the north coast of the islands.
