Burkina Faso is one of the poorest countries in the world. Most of the population is made up of subsistence farmers. Due to population growth and climatic conditions, the country is dependent on food imports.

Ouagadougou is the capital of Burkina Faso. It is said: Wa-ga-du-gu. It is often abbreviated to Ouaga. The city is pretty much in the middle of the country. It is also the largest city in the country. In 2006 there were 1.5 million inhabitants, today there are probably a few more.
