Arkansas (abbreviated Ark. or AR.), State of the United States of 137,754 kmĀ². It has about 2.7 million inhabitants. The capital is Little Rock.

The climate is of a humid subtropical nature. Agriculture is an important industry with the cultivation of, among other things, cotton and rice. Forestry, the wood processing industry, bauxite extraction and tourism are other important industries. The state also has many health resorts.

Arkansas has been our state since 1836 and is called the Land of Opportunity.
