In Arkansas, there are 2,915,918 residents (Census 2010), of which 74.5% are white (without Hispanics and Latinos), 15.4% African American, 6.4% Hispanic or Latino, 1.2% Asian Americans and 0.8% Indians. There are 1,132,488 households.
Ancestry
In 2014, 11.2% of the population were Irish, making it the largest group. This is followed by the groups of Americans (10.7%), German (10.6%), English (9.6%) and French (1.9%).
Religion
The major religious communities in 2000 were: 665,307 Southern Baptist Convention, 179,383 United Methodist Church, 115,967 Catholic Church. There are many other Christian denominations, especially those that are Protestant.
